Marketing a marketing agency

As a designer on the agency marketing team for Jack Morton, my task was to design content that pushed the limits of shifting social media trends while remaining consistent within our brand guidelines so our agency’s purpose was clearly portrayed. With Work, Culture, Awards, and Education being our north stars that guided content, we would strategically design our feed to provide our followers with valuable posts that reflected what Jack Morton is. Work

As an agency, it is essential that we routinely showcase our work. One of the challenges with showcasing work is that case studies often come in around 2 minutes or more which is much too long for attention spans of most viewers on social. The job of our team is to simplify that content into only the essential video and imagery necessary to tell a compelling story. We combine our work footage with social media trends so that our content is always relevant and consistently attracting the attention of people that don’t know us at all.

Culture content is all about highlighting the passion and people behind Jack Morton in an authentic and fun way. We have to find a way to make all the diverse content that comes from culture content still look and feel like Jack.

We developed a design system for how to share award winning work that merged our branding with the guidelines of different award groups so that we had consistency across our feed. This allowed us to routinely showcase award winning work that had structure around the required elements and creativity come from the work footage so the videos always felt fresh.

One of the primary purposes of our social media channels is to provide useful content to our followers. The primary challenge we faced is to design graphics that simplified complex articles and thought leadership into quick information that. cut through the clutter of social media.
